My background in graphic design has taught me to not only see beyond the big picture, but to look at the details - the colours, textures, patterns, feelings - and bring them together into a simpler form. I use this concept in my paintings, especially abstract florals, where I take the colours and layers of a floral arrangement or garden, and rearrange them in a new composition, while still conveying their vibrancy, delicateness and movement.
